Here's are the steps to register your domain name and setup your hosting account: 1) Register your domain name: FXDomains (.info is cheapest but you can also pick a .name or .com if you want. Extra expense is negligible). FYI -The process will try to sell you a bunch of stuff along the way. YOU DON'T NEED ANYTHING ELSE but you might want to opt for the privacy option - if you don't you will likely get spam from companies trying to sell you hosting - which of course you don't need because you are going to buy it next. I don't care because I use a spam filter and just block all of them but it's up to you. Write down your user ID and password. If you DON'T have any email other than a free web based account (i.e. hotmail, yahoo, mail.com, etc.), after order is complete you must login to your account and setup at least one email address to use for domain hosting setup. You can't use a free email service. The process is a little complicated so if you're comfortable sharing your login information with me, I'll be happy to setup the email address for you and forward it to your hotmail account. You also get one "real" email account that you can use if you prefer. You would check it via the web (just like you do with Hotmail) or using Outlook or Thunderbird. Here's the steps once you login: 1. Click the Email/Email Forwarding link 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. Now your new email forward will show in the list as (Pending Setup). It usually take 24hours for your new domain name to become active so the same goes for your new email address. However, most of the time it's much quicker so try sending an email to your new account a few hours later and see if it shows up in your Hotmail account as configured. Once your new account is working you can purchase hosting. 2) After you've bought your domain name AND setup your new email address, then purchase hosting. I use Collosal Host. Choose FWP-1. You need to click ALL the radial buttons ( ) on the next 2 screens. There are 6 total. Step 1 of 6 Step 2 of 6 Step 3 of 6 Step 4 of 6 Step 5 of 6 Pretty straight forward at this point. Continue to step 6 to complete order
